While the cost of energy is also on the rise, business leaders and corporations are feeling the economic pressure when addressing these needs in the data center.  These leaders, along with global public policy makers also recognize energy consumption as a strategic and critical issue. 

Focused on energy efficiency, many data center managers and operators have been discussing and implementing energy efficiency metrics. Yet these metrics are not always applied clearly and consistently across the industry.
