Electronic Environments Announces the Launch of its Data Center Assessment Services

Nashville, TN – March 9, 2010 --

As data center managers are faced with increasing workloads, evolving technologies, aging facilities and increased environmental awareness, Electronic Environments Corporation (EEC), a leading provider of design, engineering, energy efficiency and service solutions for data centers and other mission critical facilities, today announces the launch of a suite of comprehensive power and cooling assessment services targeted at data centers to help evaluate and determine the health status of the existing infrastructure.

By proactively managing power and cooling systems, data center managers can improve reliability, reduce energy costs and sustain the life of your facility and infrastructure. The new data center assessment service offering includes three levels; each offering increases the level of information about the physical infrastructure:

  • Level One is a data center health check - this is a basic service that will provide an inventory of the critical power and cooling equipment, note overall operating conditions and present recommendations to improve infrastructure reliability.
  • Level Two is an intermediate assessment – a more broad service that along with the offerings in level one uses airflow management and infrared imaging to present information about rack-level cooling and your room’s overall cooling capacity and utilization.
  • Level Three is a comprehensive assessment – this level includes everything in previous levels, as well as a detailed power and cooling analysis based on measured electrical distribution load readings at the rack level. This level covers infrared imaging of electrical panels as well as an air distribution analysis.

Additional services such as thermal imaging, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and electrical distribution circuit tracing can be added to configure a package that suits your budget and business needs.

“Inadequately designed critical facilities and insufficient preventive maintenance plans can have a major impact on the day-to-day operation and life expectancy of your data center's physical infrastructure,” explains Mike Kingsley, President of Electronic Environments. “With our assessment services you get an analysis of your current power and cooling capacity as well as utilization, with recommendations on optimizing your current data center infrastructure. The information is critical when developing plans for future growth or consolidation. An optimized design increases performance, extends the life of your hardware, and ensures a higher level of network availability.”

The suite of assessment services will be launched today at AFCOM’s Data Center World Expo in Nashville, TN. For information on the Data Center Assessment Services or other Electronic Environments solutions and services, visitwww.eecnet.com.
