Minicom Advanced Systems, a leading developer of remote access management and KVM solutions for the data center, has appointed Jakob Mangel as of July 1, 2011 as Director of Sales for the DACH region in Europe. In his new role, Jakob will be in charge of all sales and business development of Minicom’s products in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Jakob has more than 17 years of sales and leadership experience in delivering solutions to Global 1000 clients in EMEA, US and APAC. He has a breadth of knowledge in e-commerce and IT-products and services. After an early career in business development and sales for a leading German pharmaceutical company, Fette & Co., Jakob became an entrepreneur and founded and led the development of an IT firm in the educational Software arena, which sold its shelf products for kids in all major retail channels across Europe. He then joined Content Management AG, a leading developer of Software and Infrastructure solutions for website creation and management as Head of Sales where he created sales from scratch with all major ISP’s and Hosting Companies in North-America. In 2005 he then entered the e-commerce industry as Senior Director of Sales heading up the Key Account Management team EMEA & APAC for Digital River Inc. a public company and pioneer in the e-commerce outsourcing space. In all his sales and business development roles he was a key revenue driver and was charged with worldwide responsibility for enterprise client sales and account development and was a primary driver of Digital River’s expansion. Jakob holds a B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an MBA from the University of East London. He is a huge outdoor fan and lives with his family today in Tel Aviv.
