Vaultas Announces Unveiling and Availability of Central Minnesota’s First Public Collocation Data Center Facility in Alexandria, MN

Grand Opening Celebration to Feature Ribbon Cutting, Facility Tours, Business Networking, Food, Prizes and More!

 

Minneapolis, Minn. May 16, 2011 Vaultas, a premier provider of innovative and collaborative, vendor-neutral data center and BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) facilities in the Upper Midwest, today announced the completion and general availability of the company’s new public collocation data center facility in Alexandria, Minnesota. The new facility is the first of its kind in Northern Minnesota, and represents the newest public data center operation in the state. In celebration, Vaultas will host Grand Opening festivities and data center tours on-site at the Alexandria facility on May 24, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and members of the press and the regional business community are cordially invited.

 

This vendor-neutral, multicarrier, fiber-connected BCDR complex is centrally located to serve all of Minnesota, with access to multiple 100+ Gigabit fiber-optic networks to the 511 Carrier Hotel in Minneapolis. The facility is equipped with industrial power systems with diesel generator backup, Dual-UPS power systems accompanied by complete 24x7x365 security and support. In an effort to bring significant economic growth, innovation and technology to Minnesota, Vaultas built a large fiber-optic network from Minneapolis to Fargo, N.D., that brings affordable large-scale bandwidth and Internet service to rural Minnesota. The new facility located in Alexandria represents over a million-dollar investment in the community. This is the first of three phases planned for the data center, with anticipated completion of the final phase by 2014.
